A couple of weeks ago, I started buiding a new power amplifier for portable use, mainly with my Elecraft K1. Now, the project has finished.
This time I used IRFZ24N MOSFETs in stead of the IRF510. The IRFZ24N is more rugged than the IRF510 and probably better for use in harsh environments. The amplifier is able to produce more than 60W running off a 3S (12.6V) 6Ah LiPo battery. Above 18MHz the power drops to about 20W on 10m with 5W input, but since my K1 only has 40, 30, 20 amd 17m, this is not an issue for me.
